STANFORD, Calif.- No. 6 Stanford suffered a three-set men's volleyball loss to No. 10 Cal State Northridge on Friday night at Maples Pavilion, falling 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 in its return to the court following an 18-day layoff.
Stanford (12-9, 9-9 MPSF), which dropped its third straight match, was led by Eric Mochalski (.462 hitting percentage, seven kills, four blocks), Brian Cook (team-high 11 kills) and Denny Falls (.625 hitting percentage).
Cal State Northridge (11-10, 9-10 MPSF) snapped a four-match losing streak.
The loss ended Stanford's 13-match winning streak at Maples Pavilion and extended its streak of consecutive sets lost to nine. Stanford hadn't lost three straight since 2007.
The Cardinal is back in action Saturday, hosting No. 3 Long Beach State at 7 p.m.
