STANFORD, Calif. - Behind senior pitcher Teagan Gerhart, the No. 15/17 Stanford softball team shut out No. 12/14 UCLA 2-0, Saturday, at Smith Family Stadium in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal, which improved to 24-9 overall and 2-4 in the Pac-12, captured its first conference series win of the season, while the Bruins fell to 25-8 on the year and 2-4 in the conference.

Gerhart posted her fourth shutout of the year, improving to 13-4 overall. She allowed just five hits and one walk while fanning two batters. Offensively, sophomore Cassandra Roulund and freshman Kaitlin Schaberg drove in Stanford's two runs. Sophomore Hanna Winter was 2-for-3 for the Cardinal. Stanford also registered four stolen bases in the game, including two by senior Sarah Hassman.

For the third straight game, the Cardinal scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Roulund singled to right centerfield, scoring Hassman from second for her 20th RBI of the season.

The Cardinal added a run in the bottom of the second inning as Schaberg hit a solo shot to left field. It was the second home run of the season for the rookie.

Up next, Stanford will play a mid-week series at Oregon State, April 2-3, before returning home to play host to second-ranked Arizona State, April 6-7. Saturday's double-header against the Sun Devils will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
