We went through the whole year losing five macthes, and all five went down to the last match. I told our team today that this was a bad time to play our worst match of the year, especially after we won the doubles point and had the momentum." Virginia Commonwealth Head Coach Paul Kostin - "It was an ubelievable match with an unbelievable finish (second set tiebreaker at No. 4 singles). With the way we lost the doubles point, I was hoping that we could just stay with them for awhile. But we reloaded for singles. Everyone played well today. We've lost a couple of 4-3 squeakers like this earlier this year5, but today we deserved to win." | |
