Spencer McLachlin of Stanford men's volleyball was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the week of February 18-25. McLachlin tallied 34 kills in Stanford's two games last week in which they split against top-ranked BYU.
On Friday, Feb. 22, McLachlin tallied 18 kills and hit .405 in Stanford's five game loss, which was only the third time the Cougars had to go to five games on the season. The breakthrough occurred on Saturday night, when McLachlin tallied 16 kills and hit .310 in Stanford's victory over BYU in three games. This was only the second BYU lost on their home court in the past two years and was their first loss of the season. McLachlin was also named MPSF Player of the Week for his efforts.
McLachlin and the Cardinal will return to action against Hawai?i on Weds, Feb. 27 and Thurs, Feb. 28. Both matches will take place at Burnham Pavilion and will begin at 7:00 p.m
