Dan Shapiro Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior forward Dan Shapiro (New Haven, CT/Hopkins School) of the Stanford men’s soccer team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 17-23.

Senior forward Dan Shapiro (New Haven, CT/Hopkins School) of the Stanford men’s soccer team was selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 17-23.

Shapiro, a senior from New Haven, CT, led the Cardinal attack with three goals in two games this past week. Stanford defeated Princeton and Davidson as Shapiro posted the game winning goal in both victories. On the week, he attempted nine shots with six of them on goal and three reaching the back of the net. Shapiro currently leads the Cardinal with four goals and eight points on the season.

This is Shapiro's first Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2007-08 season. Shapiro and the rest of the Stanford men’s soccer team return to action Friday, Sept. 28 vs. College of Charleston at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.
