Alicia Soto on being at Stanford: "For me, being at Stanford University means that I have a made a choice to dedicate myself to become better in all aspects of my life. Unlike other colleges that I looked at in high school, I didn't view Stanford as a final destination. Instead, I viewed Stanford as the place where I could obtain the experiences necessary to begin my own life. Being here at Stanford means I haven't always settled for what is the most convenient or comfortable but rather, I went beyond my perceived limitations. Before I had viewed my college choices as 'where was it best to be from', for example places such as School X or School Y, that I was told weren't always too enjoyable to be at, but awesome to be from. I am so excited that Stanford University is a place where I can be both happy to be at and always proud to be from."
