Beau Weiner, a former Stanford All-American, will begin his first season on the Cardinal staff in 2002-03 as a volunteer assistant coach. Weiner placed seventh at the 1999 NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors two weeks after finishing as the runner-up at the Pac-10 Championships. While at Stanford as a student-athlete, Weiner was a team captain, an Academic All-American and was voted Outstanding Wrestler for the Cardinal after his senior season.

Weiner, a Hangtown, Calif. native, attended perennial powerhouse Ponderosa High School where he was coached by Richard Fox and Steve Escobar and placed 7th and 3rd at the California State Championships. Ponderosa holds the state dual meet record for most consecutive wins after remaining undefeated from 1989 to 1995.

Weiner also runs a fitness training program, serves as a substitute teacher and manages a game preserve.
