At Stanford: Senior is poised to have his best year in 2009...has developed an outstanding changeup to complement a hard-breaking slider and a fastball that runs in the upper 80s...will push for a spot in the starting rotation, but could also pitch out of the bullpen...has worked in both roles throughout his time on The Farm...a fearless pitcher who attacks hitters...has posted a career 6-4 record with three saves and a 6.50 ERA (66er, 91.1ip) in 51 outings (11 starts).

As a Junior in 2008: Was a key swingman on the Cardinal staff, making eight starts among his 17 appearances...eight starts tied for fourth-most on the club...finished 2-1 with one save and a 6.09 ERA (30er, 44.1ip)...limited right-handed hitters to a .260 batting average (26-for-100)...Stanford went 5-3 in his eight starting assignments...started in his first three appearances (Feb. 23 vs. Nebraska, Feb. 26 vs. Nevada and March 4 at California), going 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA (6er, 13.1ip)...recorded his first win against the Wolf Pack, allowing three runs over 5.0 innings in Stanford's 4-3 victory...picked up the save March 24 at Pacific, tossing shutout ball over the final 3.0 frames...had perhaps his best outing of the year April 14 vs. Santa Clara, earning the relief win with 4.0 innings of three-hit, shutout ball...was with the club, but did not pitch in the postseason.

As a Sophomore in 2007: Was 2-3 with two saves and a 7.71 ERA (22er, 25.2ip) in 18 appearances (one start)...had an excellent strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.29-1, fanning 23 against just seven walks in his 25.2 innings of work...forged his best run of the season during a three-game stretch from March 10-27 when he did not allow an earned run in 4.2 innings...struggled in Pac-10 action with an 0-1 record and a 15.88 ERA in four appearances, including his first career conference start...did compile six strikeouts in only 5.2 Pac-10 innings.

As A Freshman In 2006: Posted a 2-0 record and 5.91 ERA (14er, 21.1ip) with 19 strikeouts during his rookie collegiate season...pitched in 16 games, including a pair of starts...was 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 8.1 Pac-10 innings, spanning seven relief appearances...pitched just three times in February and March before making 13 appearances from April-June...earned his first collegiate win in the first game of an April 1 doubleheader vs. USC, working 1.0-scoreless relief inning...made his postseason debut June 11 at Oregon State, retiring both batters faced against the eventual national champions...was hindered by some bad luck, as his nine unearned runs allowed tied for the most on the team.

High School: Graduated in 2005 from Westside High School in Omaha, Neb....helped his team win the Nebraska's spring state tournament during his 2004 junior season...also played prep football and basketball...named the High School Coaches Wide Receiver of the Year as a senior...football squad was a semifinalist in the Nebraska state tournament in his junior year and a quarterfinalist during his senior campaign...in hoops, his sophomore club was the state runner-up...coached in baseball by Bob Greco and Jim Simons.

Other Amateur Baseball: Has not played during the last two summers (2007-08)...played for the Waikiki Surfers of the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League during the summer of 2006...had a tremendous summer in 2005, going 12-0 with an 0.32 ERA on the mound to go with a .482 batting average and four homers at the plate.

Personal Information: Son of James and Lisa Fearnow...his older brother, Brian, pitched for Stanford from 1997-2000...is a fan of the Houston Astros, while he lists Red Hot Chili Peppers as his favorite musical artist...strongly considered playing college football, before opting for the diamond...majoring in sociology.
