National Competition: Competed in the 100 breast, 200 breast and the 200 IM at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb...competed at the 2007 Summer Nationals, capturing a bronze medal in the 200 IM and reaching the finals in the 100 breast...competed in the 100 and 200-meter breast, and the 200-meter IM at the 2006 USA Swimming National Championship.

2007-08 Season (Junior): Earned two All-America honors after placing seventh in the 200 IM and 11th in the 200 breast...his time of 1:44.84 in the 200 IM ranks fourth on the all-time Stanford list...also a NCAA qualifier in the 100 breast where he finished 17th...helped Stanford to the Pac-10 title after finishing second in the 200 IM, third in the 200 breast, and seventh in the 100 breast at the 2008 Pac-10 Championships.

2006-07 Season (Sophomore): Helped the Cardinal capture its 26th consecutive Pac-10 title as he finished second in the 200 IM, third in the 100 breast, and fourth in the 200 breast at the conference championship...had an outstanding NCAA Championship meet, finishing second in the 200 breast, earning All-American honors and moving into second on Stanford's all-time top-10 list with a 1:53.36...also finished second in the 100 breast consolation swim with a 53.23 to rank seventh on Stanford's all-time top-10 list...took fourth in the 200 IM consolation swim.

2005-06 Season (Freshman): Gained his first All-America honor with a seventh-place finish in the 200 IM, eighth in the 100 breast and a 10th place showing in the 200 breast at the NCAA Championships...also competed on Stanford's 200 medley relay team at nationals ... Named the 2006 Pac-10 Conference Newcomer of the Year...helped the Cardinal to its 25th straight Pac-10 title with a second-place showing in the 200 IM, fifth place in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 back...recorded four school top-15 times including a fourth-best placement in the 200 IM (1:44.99 at the Pac-10 Championships) and a fifth-best placement in the 100 breast (53.32) at the NCAA Championships.

High School: Gained numerous athletic and academic honors at Upper Arlington High School...attained MVP honors during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons...the 2004-05 Ohio state champion in the 200 IM, and as a member of the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams...the high school public champion in the 200 IM in 2005, and a member of the 200 medley relay which won the public national championship as well...the Ohio state champion (2003-04) in the 200 IM and as a member of the 400 free relay team...also played on the water polo team which won the Ohio state championship in 2004...winner of the Larkin Sportsmanship Award.
