Briefly: A team co-captain in 2000... A member of the New Zealand Under-23 team which competed to go to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, but lost to South Africa in the qualifier... A member of the New Zealand National Team which competed in the Confederation Cup in the summer of 2000 in Tahiti with former Stanford standouts Gerard Davis and Simon Elliott... Made a very easy transition from Division III where he had been an All-American at Greensboro College in North Carolina... A strong, smart player in the midfield... An All-America candidate.
As a junior in 1999: One of only six players to start all 19 games... Was chosen as the 1999 team MVP by the players... Scored three goals, including one against Santa Clara in the NCAA First Round match... Two of his strikes were game-winners... Also posted four assists, two against UC Santa Barbara... Recorded a total of 10 points on the season... Named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for the week of Nov. 9 after scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 overtime victory over 13th-ranked Santa Clara in the regular season... Earned NSCAA Far West Region All-America and MPSF All-Federation Second Team honors... Named the Royal Sun and Alliance "Young Player of the Year" in New Zealand soccer.
Before Stanford: Attended Greensboro College, where he was named an NSCAA Third Team All-American in 1998... Was selected the team MVP after leading Greensboro to the Division III Final Four in `98... Chosen to the Final Four All-Tournament Team... Two-time First Team All-Dixie Conference selection... Named the Dixie Conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 1997... Started all 41 games in his two seasons at Greensboro, recording 14 goals and 12 assists for a total of 40 points... Spent the summer of 1999 playing with the New Zealand National Team at the Confederation Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Personal: Hobbies include reading and playing golf... Former member of the New Zealand Youth Cricket Team... Majoring in political science.
