Hit .383 with five RBI and two stolen bases for the Arizona Rangers of the Arizona League in an abbreviated first professional campaign ... Prior to signing with Texas, played during the summer of 2003 with the independent Houma Hawks of the Southeastern League of Professional Baseball, hitting .213 with four homers and 12 RBI.
