IWe are revved up and ready to start a great campaign this year to climb those rankings in a big way. We have both great talent and excellent depth, which are very necessary to make good things happen in a tough Pac 10 conference! We welcome our 3 freshmen, Mallory Burdette (our third Burdette sister!), Stacey Tan of Lakewood, CA and Natalie Dillon of San Francisco to the Farm and will count on them to provide both challenges to the top of the lineup as well as gain the experience necessary to help this year’s squad have great success. As usual the year starts quickly with trips to the All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades Oct. 7-11, followed by local tournaments at St. Mary’s and right here at Stanford for the ITA REGIONALS, OCT. 23-26TH. We finish up in November at the ITA National Indoors in Virginia from the 5-8th and play U. of Hawaii on the Kohala Coast, Tuesday Nov. 24th. Look for some of our players including Hilary Barte and Lindsay Burdette to help out with the Esurance Tennis Classic in Mill Valley Oct. 3-4 playing alongside Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Michael Chang and our own Amber Liu Chang in a benefit for breast cancer research! There are a few spots left for the annual Thanksgiving trip to Hawaii at the beautiful Fairmont Orchid hotel on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. If you would like information on this year’s trip and the tennis clinic which takes place from Nov. 23rd – 27th, please feel free to give me a call or email me about details. Clinic costs start at $1,000 for adults (with app. half of that tax deductible) to $3,200 for families of 5 participants. Thanks for your support and we will see you at the Taube Tennis Stadium for some exciting fall action and to preview this great team at the ITA Regionals October 23-26, 2009.
