Starbird, No. 1 Stanford Storm Past #24 Stephen F. Austin, 85-62
HONOLULU -- Kate Starbird scored 27 points and Vanessa Nygaard added 20points and 12 rebounds as top ranked Stanford remainedundefeated with an 85-62 victory over number 24 Stephen F.Austin in the semifinals of the Hawiian Air Wahine Classic.
Olympia Scott added 14 points and nine boards before fouling outwith 2:56 remaining for Stanford (6-0). Jamila Widemancontributed 10 points and six assists for the Cardinal, who shot53 percent (17-for-32) in the first half en route to a 46-28lead at halftime.
Stanford will face Michigan in the championship game Sunday. Anitra Davis had 16 points and eight rebounds and Katrina Priceadded 15 points for Stephen F. Austin (3-1), which will play Hawaii in the consolation game.
