Bruins No Match for No. 3 Cardinal, 74-62
LOS ANGELES -- Kate Starbird poured in 27 points to pace third-ranked Stanfordto a 74-62 Pac-10 victory over UCLA.
The Cardinal (15-1, 3-0 Pac-10) shot 43 percent (25-of-58) fromthe field, including an 8-of-17 effort from Starbird, who was2-of-5 from three-point range.
Takiyah Jackson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bruins(7-5, 1-2) and was their only player to score in double figures.
Naomi Mulitauaopele added 15 points and 17 rebounds forStanford, which got 11 points from Olympia Scott but only twofrom Vanessa Nygaard and Jamila Wideman, the other members ofthe starting five. The Cardinal bench contributed 19 points.
UCLA shot just 39 percent (23-of-59) from the field and turnedthe ball over 23 times, including seven by Tawana Grimes.Stanford turned the ball over 14 times.
