No. 21 Cardinal Upended by College of Charleston at Great Alaska Shootout
ANCHOARGE, Alaska -- Anthony Johnson scored 20 points and seven assists as College ofCharleston upset 21st-ranked Stanford, 82-78, to advance to thefinals of the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage.
Stacy Harris added 18 points and Jermel President had 10 of his17 in the first half for College of Charleston (3-0), which willface eighth-ranked Kentucky in Saturday's championship game.
Tim Young had 22 points and nine rebounds and Brevin Knightadded 19 points and nine assists for Stanford (1-1), which helda 36-34 halftime lead and a seven-point cushion five minutesinto the second half.
With his second assist, Knight moved past Reggie Geary (554)into eighth place on the Pac-10's all-time assists list.
Thaddeous Delaney had 11 points, Sedric Webber added 10 andHarris handed out five assists for Charleston, which shot 49percent (27-of-55) from the field and made 27-of-37 free throws.
