Cardinal Snaps Three Game Losing Skid With 87-54 Win Over OSU

STANFORD, Calif. -- Kris Weems scored 17 points and Arthur Lee added 13 as 22nd-ranked Stanford avenged an earlier conference upset with an 87-54 rout of Pac-10 rival Oregon State.

Stanford (14-6, 7-5 Pac-10) snapped its three-game losing streak and made up for an 86-77 defeat to the Beavers on January 18th.

Oregon State (6-15, 2-10) continued its woeful road play, losing its 17th straight road contest and 13th consecutive conference matchup away from home. The Beavers have dropped six of their last seven and haven't broken the 80-point barrier in nearly two months.

Oregon State was held to just four points in a 10-minute span bridging the first and second halves. This continues the Beavers' trend of prolonged scoring droughts during conference matchups. In at least 10 other Pac-10 games this season, Oregon State has gone cold from the field for at least a five-minute span.

The game was tied at 19 following a free throw by Oregon State's Terrill Woods with 4:37 left in the half. But the Cardinal responded by going on 10-2 run to close the half. Brevin Knight began the burst with a pair of free throws and David Moesley followed with six straight points. A layup by Mark Seaton capped the burst and gave Stanford a 29-21 lead at the break.

In the second half Stanford came out hot with a 16-2 burst that broke the game open. Lee hit a pair of three-pointers and Weems added five points during the spurt.

The Beavers made just 8-of-30 field goal attempts and were outrebounded 22-12 in the first half.
