Stanford Posts 25-2 Win Over San Jose State
Adam Salina scored touchdowns all three times he touched the ball in the first half, lifting Stanford to a 25-2 victory over San Jose State.
Salinas had two-yard touchdown runs in the first and second quarter and caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Chad Hutchinson with one second left in the half for a 23-0 cushion. Salinas had just one other carry, a three-yard run in the second half.
Hutchinson completed 17-of-20 passes for 183 yards with one interception and Kevin Miller kicked a 24-yard field goal for Stanford (1-1), which lost to Utah last week. The teams exchanged safeties in the second half.
The game marked some defensive improvement for San Jose State (0-3), which had yielded exactly 45 points in each of its last three games dating back to last season.
Stanford has won the last five meetings between the teams.
