Sophomore Brook Lopez (Fresno, Calif.) of the Stanford men's basketball team has been selected as the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 7-14.

Lopez was the Cardinal's most dominant scoring threat last week in a road split of the Oregon schools. On Jan. 10 against Oregon State, Lopez almost notched a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds in 25 minutes as Stanford rolled to a 66-46 victory.
Three days later at Oregon, Lopez single-handedly kept Stanford in the game with a 26-point, six-rebound effort in 32 minutes. He scored 20 of his points before halftime and also tallied three blocked shots while finishing 10-16 from the field and 6-6 from the charity stripe.
For the year, Lopez leads the Cardinal in scoring (16.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.6 rpg) in seven games played.
Stanford (13-3, 2-2 Pac-10) is back at home this weekend, with contests against Arizona (11-5, 1-2 Pac-10) on Thursday at 8 p.m. and No. 22/25 Arizona State (13-2, 3-0 Pac-10) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
