Women's Soccer Defeats Oregon State
CORVALLIS, Ore.-Stanford scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and went on to cruise to a 7-1 win over Oregon State on Friday. The Beavers dropped to 2-13-1 overall, 0-7-0 in the Pac-10. Stanford improves to 9-7-0, 4-2-0 in the Pac-10.
The Cardinal kept control of the ball most of the game, outshooting OSU 31-2. Emily Burt had a hatrick for Stanford, scoring the first, fourth and fifth goals. This gives the senior forward from Menlo-Park 15 goals for the season. Jen O'Sullivan had three assists for the Cardinal.
"We can't compete with that kind of team-it's not possible," OSU coach Tom Rowney said.
Crystal Archambault scored the lone goal for the Beavers with five minutes left.
Stanford will play the University of Oregon on Monday, November 2 at 3:00 p.m.
