No. 47 Stanford Falls 4-3; Earns Pac-12 Road Split

EUGENE, Ore.- No. 47 Stanford dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 44 Oregon on Saturday afternoon, closing out its final road trip of the season.

The Cardinal (8-8, 1-3 Pac-12) came away with a split of its road swing to the Pacific Northwest after collecting a 4-3 win against No. 30 Washington yesterday.

Oregon (15-4, 2-2 Pac-12), which has won seven of its last 10, defeated Stanford for the first time in program history.

Stanford claimed a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point, posting victories on courts Nos. 1 and 2.

John Morrissey (6-3, 6-4 at No. 1) and Trey Strobel (6-7, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5) accounted for Stanford's only singles victories.

The Ducks clinched the match on court three, where Daan Maasland edged Robert Stineman 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Stanford will play its final five matches of the regular season at Taube Family Tennis Stadium. The Cardinal will host three duals next week, beginning with Pepperdine on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
