STANFORD, Calif. - Six Stanford women's lacrosse players earned All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors - including four on the first team - as announced by the conference Wednesday.
Stanford first-team selections include Rachel Ozer, Anna Kim, Hannah Farr and Megan Lerner. It was Farr's second consecutive first-team honor, while Ozer, Kim and Lerner claimed their first.
Nina Swanson was named to the second team All-MPSF for the second consecutive year, while freshman Lucy Dikeou earned her first award.
Ozer had a terrific offensive season as she scored in 15 of 16 games and led Stanford in points (62), goals (43) and assists (19). Kim followed Ozer with 37 points on 27 goals and 10 assists, and was second on the team with 49 draw controls. Kim was named to the second team All-MPSF in 2012 and was the MPSF Newcomer of the Year in 2011.
Farr continued to provide a strong all-around game in the midfield in her sophomore campaign. Farr notched 36 points on 24 goals and 12 assists, claimed 28 draw controls, picked up 12 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers on the season.
Lerner broke the Stanford single-season draw control record, claiming a team-best 55 - passing the previous mark of 52 set by Catherine Swanson ('12) and Leslie Foard ('11). Lerner also caused a team-high 22 turnovers and was second on the team with 30 ground balls.
Nina Swanson caused 17 turnovers, picked up 17 ground balls and 11 draw controls on the season. She was second on the team with six caused turnovers against teams ranked in the IWLCA top 20. Swanson is considered one of Stanford's best shut-down defenders and was often tasked with covering opposing teams' top offensive player.
Dikeou made an immediate impact in her freshman season, starting 15 of 16 games and finishing with 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists. She was second on the team with 19 caused turnovers, third with 27 ground balls and fourth with 25 draw controls on the season. Dikeou thrived in conference play and led Stanford with 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in eight MPSF matches.
Stanford tied Denver for the most conference honors with six - both earning four first-team and two second-team selections.
