Blandino's Bat Lifts Stanford to Fourth Straight Win

STANFORD, Calif. - Alex Blandino homered twice and Dean McArdle hurled six scoreless innings to lead Stanford to an 11-2 non-conference baseball win over Pacific Tuesday at Sunken Diamond. Wayne Taylor added three runs as the Cardinal won its fourth straight and hit the 30-win mark for the 2013 season.

Stanford (30-21) out-hit Pacific, 11-9, with McArdle (3-2) limiting the Tigers to five hits over the first six frames. The longest outing of the season for McArdle saw the senior fan four against one walk.

Blandino homered in the second and eighth innings, the latter producing two runs for the Cardinal.

Brian Ragira tagged his team-high 38th RBI on first-inning sac fly. Austin Wilson added an RBI groundout.

Ragira had one hit and drove in three while adding two sacrifice flies on the day.

Blandino sent the first pitch of the second to deep left center for his fifth home run on the season. Ragira added to his RBI total with a single through the right side. Similar to the first frame, Wilson followed with his second RBI.

Lonnie Kauppila tripled to score Taylor in the fifth, giving Stanford an 8-0 lead.

Sam Lindquist blanked the Tigers (14-37) in the ninth.

Jason Taasaas had three hits for Pacific. Taasaas also threw the last 2.0 innings for Pacific, allowing two earned runs on three hits.

Stanford left three stranded in the third and 11 runners in the contest.
