STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's rowing received a bid to the IRA Championships set to take place at Lake Natoma from May 31-June 2.
The Cardinal finished third in the Pac-12 Championships team standings and had its fourth-ranked I Eight capture the Pac-12 silver medal at Lake Natoma last Sunday. Stanford is on a nice run going into the IRA Championships in two weeks, having defeated California for the Schwabacher Cup at The Big Row on May 4 and finished second only to No. 1 Washington at last Sunday's Pac-12 I Eight Grand Final.
In mid-April the Cardinal posted wins over No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 20 Oregon State.
Stanford is one of four Pac-12 crews to earn a spot in the IRA Championships, being joined by Washington, California and Oregon State.
Last year Stanford sent three boats to the IRA Championships. The II Eight recorded its highest IRA finish with a sixth-place effort, while the I Eight and Frosh Eight each placed 14th.
