STANFORD, Calif.- Senior Hope Burke has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
The honor is the first of Burke's career and first for a field hockey player since Ale Moss back on Oct. 31, 2011.
Burke was also named the NorPac's West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
A native of Selinsgrove, Pa., Burke attempted a team-high five shots and scored twice as No. 12 Stanford split a pair of games, falling 2-1 in double-overtime to No. 4 Connecticut and defeating Michigan State 5-2.
Against Connecticut, Burke tallied a team-best three shot attempts. Two days later, she scored twice against Michigan State in her fourth career multi-goal game.
Stanford continues its four-game homestand later this week, hosting No. 20 New Hampshire (Friday, 6 p.m.) and VCU (Sunday, 2 p.m.).
