On the game overall –
“First of all, I want to say that we knew we were coming into a hornets’ nest here. UCLA came in here a week ago and barely squeaked out. We knew it would be a battle and we didn’t play well enough.”
“We had a few sparks early in the game on special teams but not enough, and we can do so much better. Our front seven didn’t play well tonight. Some of the pressure was our QB’s fault and some wasn’t. We will go watch the film and see what we can do better moving forward.”
On Utah running back Bubba Poole –
“Utah did a good job. They are a good team and have always been good, and this is the best I have seen them play all year. Everyone in our conference knows that this is one of the toughest places to play. Utah is really big up front and creates issues for us on the defensive side. We made adjustments that slowed them up the second half, but they did a good job. We missed tackles and didn’t play well enough. Good teams play hard and smart, we didn’t do that tonight.”
