Stanford Sixth at Nationals

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Stanford sailing completed its fall season of competition this weekend, placing sixth at the ICSA Match Race Nationals hosted at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

Stanford dropped its quarterfinal match Sunday to eventual regatta champion Georgetown, 2-0, but finished the event by winning its consolation race against Michigan, 1-0. The Hoyas were followed by College of Charleston, St. Mary’s (Md.), Yale and Wisconsin.

The Cardinal was represented by Scott Buckstaff (skipper), Hans Henken (trimmer), Cam Hutton (trimmer) and McKenzie Wilson (bow).

The race concludes the fall season of racing for Stanford, which swept all four PCCSC conference regattas. The Cardinal will return to action Jan. 4-5 when it competes at the Rose Bowl regatta in Long Beach, Calif.
