2000-01 (Senior): Tore her MCL knee ligament and partially tore her PCL ... Underwent arthriscopic surgery in the fall ... Expected to be playing by February.

1999-2000 (Junior): Competed at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships ... Reached the third round after defeating Zuzana Stunova of Washington, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, in the first round and Vida Senci of Idaho, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1, in the second round ... She went 2-1 versus regional opponents and 1-0 against the Pac-10, finishing with a 3-1 record for the fall.

1998-99 (Sophomore): Was 4-2 in doubles with three different partners ... Ended the year with a 13-6 overall singles record ... Won nine straight matches between 11/27 and 4/16 ... Recorded an 8-1 record at No. 6 singles ... Posted a 3-0 record versus the Pac-10 in singles ... Began the season ranked 49th with Jennifer Heiser in doubles, according to ITA Preseason rankings, but began the season teamed with Julia Sherbakov... At the ITA Regional, advanced to the third round before falling to eventual finalists Anita Kurimay and Claire Curran 8-3 in the third round... In singles competition, she won her first-round match vs. Erin Welch of Sacramento State 6-0, 7-5... Completed the fall season with a 1-1 mark.

1997-98 (Freshman): Turned in an impressive freshman campaign, posting a 23-8 overall record, including a 19-5 mark in dual matches... Recorded a 9-4 mark in conference play... Won her first 10 collegiate dual matches... The duo have registered a 14-8 mark overall, including 11-6 record in dual matches... She and Heiser cracked the rankings for the first time in the March 10 edition, debuting at No. 24... In singles play, she advanced to the fourth round of the Northwest Rolex Regional Tournament while in doubles, she and Heiser, playing together for the first time, reached the semifinals before losing to teammates Julie Scott and Ania Bleszynski... She and Heiser were the only unseeded doubles team to reach the semifinals.

Prior to Stanford: Prepped at Lycee Francais de New York in NYC... Captured the 1996 Syracuse Grand Prix Under-14 singles title... Lost in the finals of the 1997 La Raquette tournament... Qualified for the 1995 Orange Bowl Junior Championships, making it to the second round... Climbed as high as No. 9 in the Belgian open rankings in 1996... Competed on the South American Under-14 circuit... Was the No. 1 Under-14 player in Venezuela in 1992.

Personal: Hobbies and interests include chess, travel, sports and music... Mother, Myriam, played volleyball and ping pong for ULB Brussels... Biomedical engineering major.

Coach Lele Forood: "Sarah is expected to be a factor this year, she's a very experienced player, she's a great all-around player and she will factor majorly in this year's team. She'll certainly be challenging to get into the starting lineup. And her experience will be very important to this team."
