Year Begins with Roses

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Stanford sailing earned top-five finishes in half of its races to place seventh overall this weekend at the Rose Bowl Regatta.

Racing FJ boats, the regatta consisted of two divisions competing in four races apiece. Kieran Chung-Wolf and Yuri Namikawa represented Stanford in Division-A and recorded 33 points. The pair earned two top-five finishes, including one first-place result.

Sarah Mace and Sammy Steele raced in Division-B and accumulated 27 points. The duo notched two top-five results and finished in the top 10 in all four races.

The event kicked off the new year after Stanford finished 2013 on a high note, sweeping all four Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference regattas.
