PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 7 Stanford squash team played its final match of the regular season on Sunday, falling to No. 4 Princeton, 9-0.
The Tigers seven of the nine matches in three sets. Junior Madeleine Gill and freshman Bailey Bondy gave Princeton its toughest matches of the day.
Gill took Maria Elena Ubina to four sets at the No. 1 position. Gill trailed after losing the first two sets, but fought back to take the third set 11-7. Ubina was then able to close out the match in the fourth set.
Bondy won her first set, 11-5, but could not maintain the momentum as she dropped the next three sets to lose the match.
Next up for Stanford will be the National Team Championship. The event will take place Feb. 21-23 at the Jadwin Gymnasium on Princeton’s campus.
