Stanford Coasts In Shutout

EUGENE, Ore.- No. 7 Stanford blanked Oregon 4-0 on Friday afternoon, notching its 10th shutout of the season.

Playing the first of two matches during its final road trip of the year, Stanford (15-1, 7-1 Pac-12) quickly locked up the doubles point and powered its way to three easy singles victories.

Leading 1-0, Caroline Doyle posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory at the No. 5 spot before Carol Zhao added a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the No. 2 position.

The clincher came from Taylor Davidson, who contributed a 6-0, 6-2 win on court three.

Oregon (7-12, 1-7 Pac-12) was playing on its outdoor courts for the first time this year.

The remaining singles matches were abandoned.

Stanford visits No. 47 Washington State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
