STANFORD, Calif.- No. 37 Stanford collected its fourth victory in a row on Tuesday afternoon, blanking Saint Mary’s 4-0 at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Notching its fourth shutout of the season, Stanford (13-4, 4-2 Pac-12) closed out the home portion of its schedule with a 9-1 record.
The Cardinal locked up the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, thanks to victories at the top two courts.
Daniel Ho followed with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot, extending Stanford’s lead to 2-0.
Anthony Tsodikov’s 20th win of the year was a 7-5, 6-1 triumph at the No. 5 position, bringing the Cardinal one step closer to clinching.
Stanford secured the match on the strength of Robert Stineman’s 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 spot.
The Cardinal, which has climbed 15 spots in the national rankings over the last two weeks, closes the regular season on Saturday, April 19, against California in Berkeley.
