STANFORD, Calif. – The top-ranked Stanford women’s volleyball team remained perfect on the season with a 25-22, 25-19, 29-27 win over Oregon State (12-3, 2-2 Pac-12), Saturday, at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal (14-0, 4-0 Pac-12) is off to its best start since 2010 and remains undefeated all-time against the Beavers (57-0).

Junior outside hitter Jordan Burgess led Stanford with 14 kills on a .314 hitting percentage to go with six digs against OSU. Junior middle blocker Inky Ajanaku added 13 kills on a .400 hitting percentage, while redshirt freshman middle blocker Merete Lutz hit a career high .714 (11-1-14).

Senior libero Kyle Gilbert posted a season high 22 digs in the match to anchor the Cardinal defense. Junior setter Madi Bugg finished with her fourth double-double of the season, registering 43 assists and 13 digs. Junior outside hitter Brittany Howard added six kills and 14 digs, while senior opposite Morgan Boukather tallied five kills.

Oregon State was led by freshman outside hitter Mary-Kate Marshall, who posted 14 kills on a .317 hitting percentage to go with seven digs and four assists. Senior middle Arica Nassar added six kills on 13 errorless swings and three blocks. The Beavers pushed the Cardinal to extra points in the third, which included 17 tie scores and seven lead changes.

Stanford hits the road next week at a pair of top-25 conference opponents. The Cardinal will face No. 14 Arizona in Tucson on Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. PT and No. 17 Arizona State in Tempe on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. PT. Both matches will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
