LOS ANGELES – The top-ranked Stanford women’s volleyball team remained undefeated, Thursday, with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-22 win at No. 18 UCLA in the John Wooden Center in Los Angeles. The Cardinal moves to 26-0 and takes sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 at 16-0. The Bruins drop to 17-9 and 8-7 in the conference.

As a team, Stanford hit .310 while holding UCLA to a .229 clip. The Cardinal also collected eight team blocks and put down four service aces, including two by senior Morgan Boukather.

Junior middle blocker Inky Ajanaku led Stanford with 17 kills on a .481 attack percentage to go with three blocks. Redshirt freshman middle blocker Merete Lutz added 10 kills on 14 swings with no errors to tie her career high in hitting percentage (.714). The Houston, Texas native also tallied five blocks.

Junior outside hitter Brittany Howard also turned in a solid performance, totaling 10 kills on a season-best .450 attack percentage. She also registered six digs and five blocks in the win. Junior Jordan Burgess finished with eight kills and six digs.

Junior setter Madi Bugg racked up 41 assists and seven digs while guiding the offense. Senior libero Kyle Gilbert had 12 digs to lead the team.

UCLA was led by senior Karsta Lowe who had a match-high 21 kills. Reily Buechler added nine kills, while libero Taylor Formico finished with a match-best 16 digs.

Stanford returns to The Farm next week to host Utah and No. 22 Colorado in its final regular season home matches. The Cardinal will take on the Utes on Friday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks. Stanford faces the Buffaloes on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. on Senior Night.
