Kaminski Nabs Weekly Honor

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's volleyball player Conrad Kaminski was named #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the team's season opening win last week over UC Santa Cruz.

Kaminski, a mechanical engineering major from New Berlin, Wis., hit .800 against the Banana Slugs, finishing 8-0-10. He also racked up six blocks, two digs and a service ace. The Cardinal hit .301 as a team and held UCSC to a .008 clip, marking the second-lowest opponent hitting percentage in the rally scoring era in program history.

Stanford has won eight consecutive season openers under head coach John Kosty, now in his ninth season at the helm of the program. Kaminski, who is receiving his first career weekly honor, is the first men's volleyball player to be recognized since Brian Cook on Jan. 14, 2013.

Stanford plays host to the AVCA Showcase Jan. 9-10 in Maples Pavilion, welcoming defending national champion Loyola Chicago, NCAA semifinalist BYU and NCAA play-in participant Lewis University to The Farm. Details here.
