2018 Stanford Open House

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's water polo team will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 21 for sophomores and freshmen interested in learning more about Stanford water polo, Stanford Athletics and Stanford University.

The program is designed for 2020 and 2021 high school graduates, but anyone may attend.

12:15 p.m. » Presentation will begin followed by a campus tour for athletes and parents
1:30 p.m. » Conclusion of the Open House

Please meet on the upper deck by the elevator.

The open house includes a campus tour, and interested attendees can check out a campus map by clicking here.

TO REGISTER FOR THE 2018 OPEN HOUSE:
1) Go to this link and complete the form.
2) Complete the Prospect Information Sheet/Questionnaire
3) Scan and email a copy of your transcript to coach Susan Ortwein at sortwein@stanford.edu
4) Show up on April 21 and enjoy the day!

Parking is free in the Varsity Lot on Nelson Rd. (next to the pools and Sunken Diamond)

NCAA RULES
(Note that this is just a summary of the rules. Please pay close attention to the ability or inability to return emails and/or phone calls)
 
September 1 (beginning of your junior year of high school) is when college coaches can begin sending mail, emails, texts, and make phone calls to a prospective student-athlete or their parent/guardian. Coaches are prohibited from making face-to-face contact off campus.
 
** However, NCAA rules allow anyone to visit a university and speak with the coach on their campus. Therefore anyone can attend the Open House. And you are allowed to call us at any time.
 
July 1 (after completion of your junior year) is when college coaches can speak with a prospective student-athlete or their parent/guardian by in person off campus. 
 
In Summary: For 2020 and 2021 graduates, due to NCAA rules we are not allowed to contact you once you register therefore we will see you on April 21.  You can contact us by phone and if we pick up we will be able to talk with you. However, if we are out of the office and you leave a message we cannot return your call, so keep trying.
