STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford men’s gymnast Akash Modi was named the #GoStanford Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Cardinal’s meet against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 6 California and No. 10 Nebraska.
Modi earned a season-best 90.150 in the all-around to place first and claimed individual event victories on parallel bars (15.450) and pommel horse (14.800). Modi became the first and only gymnast in the country to break the 90-point mark in the all-around this season.
Modi also registered a second-place finish on high bar (14.650), a fourth-place result on rings (15.050) and a season-high score of 15.200 on floor.
Modi has earned two MPSF and two College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week honors this season. He was a four-time MPSF and CGA Gymnast of the Week as a freshman in 2014.
