COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Stanford synchronized swimming team opened up its 2015 schedule at the Jessica Beck Memorial Meet in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend with entries in the trio and duet.
The Cardinal came in second in each of its respective competitions. Sophomores Isabella Park and Marisa Tashima scored an 82.7250 in the duet behind only the Ohio State pair of Lorraine Hack and Alyssa Hoying (85.7500).
Park and Tashima were joined by freshman Katie Gu in the trio and finished second with an 84.2250. The Buckeyes’ Emma Baranski, Elizabeth Davidson, Khadija Zanotto won the event with a score of 85.3500.
Without entries in the solo and team swims, Stanford came in fourth overall with a team score of 27.0. Ohio State won (91.0), Wheaton came in second (58.0) and Michigan was third (35.0), while Miami (23.0) and Wright State (10.0) rounded-out the field.
The Cardinal returns to action next weekend when it heads to San Antonio, Texas to for competitions against Lindenwood and Incarnate Word. The team’s lone home competition of 2015 comes the following weekend (Feb. 20-22) when it hosts Lindenwood at Avery Aquatic Center.
