STANFORD, Calif. -- Oregon State completed a three-game sweep of the Stanford baseball team with a 12-3 win at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 2,714. The Beavers won their fifth straight Pac-12 series.

Stanford (22-31, 7-20 Pac-12) faced an early deficit for the third straight day when Oregon State opened a 5-1 lead. The Cardinal put together a two-run rally in the sixth and had the tying run on second base with the bases loaded and two outs before the comeback stalled and OSU pulled away.

After the sixth, Oregon State outscored Stanford, 7-0, to spoil Senior Day on The Farm. Stanford finished 13-18 at Sunken Diamond in 2015.

The Beavers (36-14-1, 17-9-1 Pac-12) had at least one hit in the top eight spots in its order and No. 9-hole hitter Christian Donahue scored three times. Joe Gillette, who made two diving plays in the third inning to save at least two runs, led Oregon State’s lineup with three hits.

Catcher Dane Lund was the only other Beaver with multiple hits, picking up two in a spot start, while KJ Harrison, Gabe Clark and Elliott Cary each drove in two. Clark’s two RBI came on a two-run homer to open the scoring in the second inning.

Stanford aided OSU with seven walks in the game and 22 for the series, its most in a three-game set this season, and three errors. Chris Castellanos took the loss, going 5.0 innings and allowing five runs - four earned - on eight hits, while striking out six.

Beau Branton led the lineup with a 2-for-3 day, as the Cardinal could not seem to find holes with any consistency despite only striking out twice as a team. Austin Barr squared up balls for lineouts to short and center field, Gillette made the two extra-base saving catches and the OSU pitchers limited Stanford to eight hits.

Travis Eckert earned the win in 5.1 innings, while allowing three runs on seven hits. Four Oregon State relievers combined to let up just one hit over the final 3.2 innings.

The Beavers beat Stanford for the 11th straight time.

The Cardinal travels to Washington State next weekend for a three-game series starting Friday. It marks the final three games of the regular season.
