WACO, Texas - Stanford’s top two doubles teams are also now among the nation’s top eight.
Moving into Saturday’s quarterfinals round at NCAA Championships are the duos of Taylor Davidson and Carol Zhao and Caroline Doyle and Ellen Tsay. As a result, all four players have earned All-America honors.
Davidson and Zhao defeated North Carolina’s Jamie Loeb and Caroline Price 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in the round of 16 on Friday while Doyle and Tsay outlasted California’s Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Zhao also remains alive in the singles draw, reaching the quarterfinals after cruising past California’s Zsofi Susanyi 6-2, 6-0. Through her first three matches, Zhao has surrendered only six games combined.
Competition resumes Saturday morning.
