STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's volleyball team will host an open scrimmage on Monday, Aug. 24 from 3-6 p.m. in Maples Pavilion. A booster barbeque will follow on the patio of Jimmy V's Sports Cafe.
Advance registration for the barbeque is required. Fans are asked to email Amy Brown (aebrown@stanford.edu) to register by Wednesday, Aug. 19. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Cash and checks (payable to Stanford Women’s Volleyball) are accepted. Please mail to Stanford Women’s Volleyball, 641 E. Additionally, the team will be hosting a Fall Sports Field Day with the Stanford men's and women's soccer and field hockey teams on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 1-3 p.m. The Field Day will take place on the Stanford Intramural Fields, located near El Camino Real and Churchill Ave., with free parking on campus on the weekends.
Led by the Stanford teams, kids will run drills and play sports. There will also be free posters, an autograph session, and other giveaways. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. No pre-registration is necessary.
The women's volleyball team opens the 2015 season at home, Aug. 28 against Texas A&M at 6 p.m. PT in Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal will also take on Minnesota during the opening weekend on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m.
