STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford announced Monday the addition and modification of a pair of future football series, featuring contests with Kansas State and Rice.
The Cardinal will face Rice at Stanford Stadium on Nov. 26, 2016, in a game that was originally scheduled to open the 2016 season on Sept. 3.
The 2016 season opener will be Friday, Sept. 2, at Stanford Stadium against Kansas State, the first meeting between the two programs. In addition, the Cardinal will travel to Kansas State on Sept. 4, 2021.
Stanford and Rice have met four times, most recently in 1964. The Owls hold a 3-1 edge.
