Muller Strong at Nationals

NORFOLK, VA. - Stanford was well-represented at the Laserperformance ICSA Men’s and Women’s Singlehanded Nationals this past weekend.

Three Cardinal sailors earned berths at nationals by way of the PCCSC Singlehanded championships in Long Beach in September, including sophomores Luke Muller and Haley Fox and freshman Olivia Gugliemini.

After winning the conference singlehanded title, Muller finished sixth at nationals, 22 points behind Yale’s Malcolm Lamphere. This marks Muller’s second strong showing at singlehanded nationals after finishing runner-up as a freshman last season.

Fox, who won the PCCSC Women’s Singlehanded Championship, finished ninth. Gugliemini took 14th place after finishing runner-up at the singlehanded conference championship.

The Cardinal returns to action next weekend when it travels to Santa Barbara, California, to compete in the Coed PCCSC Championships.
