STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford grew stronger this week when Kaylee Cole signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cardinal in the fall of 2016.
“Kaylee is a talented scholar-athlete, with a strong work ethic and untapped potential,” said Stanford head coach Kristen Smyth. “She brings the perfect combination of athleticism and artistry and will contribute on all four events.”
Cole will join the Cardinal from Texas where she trained under Kim Zmeskal-Burdette and Chris Burdette at Texas Dreams.

Cole boasts quality international experience and has competed with Bolivia. She has had a busy 2015 competitively, participating at the Pan American Games and Junior Olympics National Qualifier. She placed fourth in the all-around, third on uneven bars and fourth on vault at the Level 10 Regionals.
At the Level 10 State Championships, Cole took home first-place honors in the all-around and bars.
Cole earned Level 10 Regional championships in the all-around and beam, and Level 10 State titles in vault and floor during 2013. She followed those performances with a fourth-place result on floor and sixth on vault at Junior Olympics Nationals.
“I have really enjoyed getting to know Kaylee throughout the recruiting process. She is a quiet leader, thoughtful, determined and leads by example,” said Smyth. “It is an absolute pleasure to officially welcome her to our SWG family.”
Cole will join a Stanford returned to the NCAA Championships for the 12th time in the past 15 years in 2015, with six gymnasts combining for nine All-America honors. The Cardinal finished fifth at the NCAA Championships with a 197.250 – the team’s second-highest score ever at an NCAA Championships competition.
Stanford is one of seven teams in the nation to make at least seven Super Six appearances in the past 14 years (2002-15).
