Chou Picks Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Madeline Chou, a three-time winner on the AJGA circuit and a Scholastic All-America, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Stanford and play for the defending national champion Stanford women’s golf team, it was announced Thursday.

Chou, who lives in Santa Ana, California, is a three-time league champion and four-time selection to the Orange County First-Team All-County Team.

Anne Walker, the Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women’s Golf, first met Chou during a Stanford Players Golf Camp.

“Her tenacity, work ethic and passion for Stanford made an impression on me,” said Walker. “I am confident she will bring those same characteristics to our team and become a leader both on and off the golf course. Her strengths are her consistency and accuracy, and she will be in a position to compete at the collegiate level right away.”

Choi joins Andrea Lee, the second-ranked junior in the country, who signed Wednesday. Lee fired a 64 on Thursday to earn medalist honors in the CIF-SS/WSCGA Foundation SoCal Girls' Championship at Goose Creek in Mira Loma, California. She advances to the State Championship with Chou, who shot 72.
