BROOKLYN – Sophomore Dorian Pickens recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, but Stanford's second-half comeback fell short in a 59-45 defeat to No. 8/9 Villanova in the NIT Season Tip-Off Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Stanford (2-3) will face Arkansas (2-2) at 9:30 a.m. PT on Friday in the consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off on ESPNU.
Marcus Allen added 12 points and five rebounds for the Cardinal against the Wildcats.
Stanford posted a season-best 55 rebounds in the game, with sophomore Reid Travis finishing with a season-high 12, and Pickens and Rosco Allen contributing 10 each to lead the way on the glass for the Cardinal.
