NEW ORLEANS – Stanford received strong showings from senior All-Americans Lauren Kim and Mariah Stackhouse to place 10th on Tuesday in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at stormy English Turn Golf and Country Club.
The Cardinal closed with an 11-over-par score of 299 to complete the 54-hole event at 24-over 888 (296-293-299). Florida won the team title with a 2-under-par score of 862.
Kim recorded rounds of 68-70-75 to finish at 3-under 213 to secure sixth, two shots behind co-winners Sarah Burnham of Michigan State and Sydney Cavin of LSU. It was the third consecutive top-10 and fourth of the season for Kim, a science, technology and society major from Los Altos, California.
Stackhouse tied for seventh after a final-round 73 at 2-under 214 (69-72-73). A communication major from Riverdale, Georgia, she now has two-straight top-10’s and three in 2015-16.
Sophomore Shannon Aubert (78-75-74) tied for 55th at 11-over 227. Junior Casey Danielson (81-76-79) finished 78th at 20-over 236, while junior Quirine Eijkenboom (81-84-77) tied for 84th at 26-over 242.
Stanford resumes competition Feb. 29 at the Bruin Wave Invitational in San Luis Obispo, California.
