STANFORD, Calif. - No. 20 Stanford blanked Colorado 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Navigating through a three-match, five-day stretch, Stanford (8-4, 3-1 Pac-12) notched its fourth shutout of the season while making quick work of Colorado (6-10, 1-4 Pac-12).
After capturing the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, the Cardinal breezed to straight-set victories in all six singles matches.
Krista Hardebeck’s 6-2, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 spot made it 2-0, before Melissa Lord’s 6-0, 6-2 triumph on court six put Stanford on the verge of clinching the match.
Taylor Davidson’s 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position secured the win.
Carol Zhao, whose only previous appearance was contributing a three-set win against Florida back on Feb. 28, returned to the lineup and competed at the No. 1 spot in singles and doubles. Zhao’s 7-5, 7-6 (5) victory in singles completed the shutout.
