Murray Menaces Cal

STANFORD, Calif. – A high-octane offense fueled with another five goal outing from Kelsey Murray propelled No. 9 Stanford past California 19-5 in the Battle Lacrosse the Bay Monday night at Stanford Stadium.

The Cardinal took a mere 10 seconds off the clock before scoring as Kelsey Murray dropped her first of five on the day as Elizabeth Cusick won the draw control and set up a perfect dish. The Cardinal scored again before Cal clawed on the board in the fifth minute of play.

Anna Salemo then went back-to-back for Stanford before another Cal goal, but the Cardinal kept doubling up every time the Bears scored before it went on a seven goal tear to close out the half up 13-3.

The Cardinal kept its scoring streak going in the second half, pushing it to 12 with Dillon Schoen and Mackenzie Tesei both putting away hat tricks in that span to open up an 18-3 lead. Cal scrapped back with two more goals, but Stanford dominated in nearly every category on the day, closing out a 19-5 victory.

The Cardinal also took to the field supporting the One Love Foundation. Stanford Athletics put together a video to voice its support of One Love’s mission, featured below. For more information on One Love, please go Here.

Stanford One Love
