STANFORD, Calif. - No. 18 Stanford blanked No. 38 Oregon 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium, notching its third straight shutout and sixth overall.

The Cardinal (10-4, 5-1 Pac-12) made quick work of the short-handed Ducks (11-7, 3-5 Pac-12), who fielded a lineup of only four available players due to various injuries throughout the roster.

Leading 1-0 after doubles, Stanford automatically moved in front 3-0 when Oregon was forced to default the singles matches at the Nos. 5 and 6 spots.

The clincher came from Caroline Lampl, who delivered a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Paloma Gomez on court four.

Taylor Davidson breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot, stretching Stanford’s lead to 5-0.

Krista Hardebeck and Carol Zhao were both tested late in their matches, but grinded out victories to complete the shutout.

Hardebeck and Lindsey Kostas were honored in a ceremony prior to the doubles competition. Members of Stanford’s 2013 NCAA championship team that won it all as a No. 12 seed, Hardebeck and Kostas have been part of 70 victories on The Farm during their careers, while also guiding the Cardinal to 13 postseason wins.

Stanford’s focus now shifts to Sunday’s 11 a.m. match at rival California (16-0, 5-0 Pac-12), which has held down the nation’s No. 1 ranking for all but one week since mid-February. While only the April 16 rematch at Taube will serve as the official Pac-12 counting match, Stanford is searching for another signature victory to strengthen its NCAA-hosting resume.

The Cardinal has held the upper hand recently, winning 10 of the last 14 meetings against the Golden Bears. Adding to the build-up is that Sunday’s match will be televised on Pac-12 Networks, with J.B. Long (play-by-play) and Amy Jensen (analyst) on the call.
