Academic Honors Continue

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior gymnast Dennis Zaremski has been named to the 2016 CoSIDA Men’s At-Large All-America first team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.

A native of New York, New York, Zaremski boasts a 3.92 cumulative GPA in comparative literature. The 2016 NCAA and MPSF champion on still rings, he is a four-time All-American (twice on still rings, twice on parallel bars) and three-time MPSF All-Academic team member.

A two-time team captain, Zaremski helped guide the Cardinal to runner-up finishes at the MPSF and NCAA championships in 2016. After graduation, Zaremski will begin his career in finance this summer as a research associate at Fred Alger Management, an investment management firm in New York City.

The at-large teams for the Academic All-America program include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo for both men and women, as well as beach volleyball, bowling, crew and field hockey for women, and volleyball and wrestling for men.

To be eligible for the national team, a student-athlete had to have been selected to its District's first team. Initial nomination criteria at the District level includes being a starter or key reserve, maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, reaching sophomore athletic and academic standing at the current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.
